DEKALB FARMERS MARKET...

So Lee took me to the Dekalb Farmers Market and it Rocked!! They have everything you can imagine there, its all fresh, mostly organic and CHEAP! I bought an ENTIRE buggy full of fresh fruits and veges, farm fresh eggs, lentils, couscous, spices, fresh fish and some great looking steaks it only cost me 53 bucks!!! and I am dead serious when I say it was a Buggy FULL! you can get a tupperware container thingy full of spices for nothing look at my comparisons below!!

Organic Corn in husk @ grocery store = $1.00 each @ Farmers market= $0.39 each

1 1/2 lbs lentils @ grocery store= $5.50 @ Farmers market= $1.78

1 lb red seedless grapes @ store= $3.49 @ Farmers market= $1.99

Farm Fresh Brown Eggs @ store comp. = $2.89 dozen @ Farmers market= $1.29 dozen

Poultry Seasoning: small jar @ grocery store = $2.95 4x at farmers market= $0.59

These are just the few things I actually compared when I stopped by the store... The only thing they had that wasn't a great deal was the organic milk (4.50 a gallon, but i dont buy organic milk so it might be a good deal...) Everyone should check it out, although Lee did tell me that if you go on a saturday dont take the kids and prepare for a crowd! (we went yesterday morning and it wasnt too bad)

:) happy FRESH shopping!

The Fam

Posted by Jilly B's

This is the basic background story but here goes....

I was born and raised in Dacula GA, I love being from a small town! My parents moved away when i finished High School (they went south to FL) but are now back in Dacula (woohoo, that drive sucked!) I have an older sister, Michelle (married w/ 3 adorable kids) and a younger brother, Josh (he's only 13).

My husband and I are High School sweet hearts, although some days I'd leave out the sweet! We dated through High School and then tried College on our own, but it only lasted one semester... I moved to Statesboro and we both attended Georgia Southern University.
We were married in a gorgeous ceremony at Chateau Elan in Dec. 2005. Matt and I bought a lot in a delightful neighborhood between Winder and Braselton and built our magnificent home himself! I am a very proud wifey. We now have a precocious 18 month old daughter, Aubrey, who is absolutely the light of our life. ( I know it's cliche but sometimes they just fit).

I didn't envision myself here at this point in my life but am pleasantly suprised to find that it suits me just fine. A lot of people told me that I didn't have the patience to be a mother (I'll admit I did agree) but the patience just came once she was here! Some days are better than others but all we can do is try to be better tomorrow. I am constantly amazed by how much Aubrey learns every single day so today I am looking at my new profession (SAHM) as a blessing and making the most of it!
BUT... if anyone is hiring PLEASE let me know (yes you can laugh here)

It Starts!

I have started this blog for two reasons; 1) my sister is VERY convincing, and 2) because I believe that I have something to offer.

I am newly a Stay at Home Mom... Not quite sure how I like it yet, but this should be an interesting forum in which to chronicle my adventure nonetheless.

It is my goal to offer insight on topics ranging from my personal experiences as a mother, wife, sister and daughter to crafty ideas and tips and of course the dreaded state of world affairs and Politics!

I am treating this Blog as my own Soap Box if you will. I hope to inspire, encourage, or entertain or the opposite of all aforementioned goals. (and yes I secretly want to go to Law School therefore I practice my Law Speak when appropriate)

I know that sarcasm is hard to express in print but I do encourage everyone reading to accept that it is generally implied :)
